Easter Photos

A little late in getting these pictures posted, but Miles had a blast coloring Easter eggs for the first time earlier this month. His cousins, Kalynn and Joella, were here for the weekend so they colored eggs too. Miles kept trying to drink the egg dye--we were quite relieved to read on the box that they were non-toxic--and loved pulling the egg out to see that it had changed color. He was a total mess by the time we were done!

We were away in Disneyland on Easter, so Miles was with Marcy's family. He spent the morning searching for eggs at Grandma and Grandpa's house, visited Great Grandpa and Great Grandma in the afternoon, and by evening he was with Marcy's cousin, Alisa, to spend a couple days.

The 2007 BHS Band Trip to California

The first morning of spring break found us at the airport at 4:30 a.m. getting ready to take a group of 89 students, chaperones, and family members to Disneyland. This was the third trip like this that Vince has taken his students on but this was the largest group. It was also the first time that both of us had been away from Miles for so long. (By the way, Miles had a blast staying here with his Grandma & Grandpa, Uncle Steve & Aunt Kara, and Webster cousins!)

We had a great trip! The band played very well both at their recording session and performance. All the kids were (mostly) well behaved! And we only had to make one trip to the ER. (A word to the wise...avoid the Anaheim emergency clinic if you can: nice doctors...crazy patients...)

We were happy to arrive home late Tuesday night and get back to our little man. We had a day to rest up and then Vince was back to work today. (Gotta make up all those snow days somehow!)

For those of you anxious to see new photos of Miles, we'll make sure to post some Easter pics as soon as we get them.

Feeling better!

Happy to report that we're all starting to feel better. Over the last two weeks, we've sure been fighting the crud! Miles had pink-eye followed by a sinus and double-ear infection: he HATED the eye drops we had to give him, but LOVED the fruity-tasting antibiotic he got twice a day. (He kept signing for more after each dose.) Marcy had an ear infection followed by laryngitis. (That made for some creative teaching situations!) And Vince was able to get through it all with just a basic cold. (Although he did have to put up with a sick wife and son....not very fun.)

Everyone is back on the mend now. In fact, Miles went and spent the morning with some freinds in Bellevue (thanks for the fun pictures Peggy!) while Vince ran a Saturday rehearsal for the upcoming band trip to Disneyland and Marcy spent the day at a social studies seminar.

Hopefully the rest of the weekend will be restful! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Under the weather

Sorry that we haven't added any new pictures recently. We've been passing colds around the Caruso home and even missed several days of school/daycare last week due to pink eye, sinus infections, ear infections, and laryngitis....fun, fun, fun. We'll let you know when we're all feeling better. In the meantime we're staying quiet and drinking lots of fluids. Talk to you all soon!

It's never too soon to start thinking about scholarships...is it?

Sure to be a future trombone star, Miles LOVES to watch his daddy play! And he's pretty good at giving kisses, too.
